Lynktern Is Now Your Companion From First Semester to Final-Year Project

Lynktern started as a SIWES logbook. Students told us the same thing again and again: SIWES is one hard season, but school is hard all the way through. Courses you don't understand, tests that come too fast, a CGPA you can't see clearly, and a final-year project nobody prepared you for.

So Lynktern now follows you through your whole degree. We call it the Lynktern Companion.

One record, from your first semester to your first job

Most study apps forget you the moment a semester ends. Lynktern does the opposite. Everything you do builds one record: the courses you took, your GPA path, the skills you practised, your signed SIWES weeks and your final-year project.

The Companion: your everyday study partner

The Companion is for every student, at every level, whatever your course.

• Today card: your next class, what's due this week and the flashcards to review, every time you open Lynktern.
• My Courses: add a course and Lynktern breaks down what it covers, topic by topic, with real videos and notes to learn from.
• AI Tutor: upload your own lecture notes and ask questions. Answers come only from your notes, with the page numbers, so you can check them. You can even ask out loud.
• Flashcards: make cards, or let AI make them from your notes, then review them on a schedule that brings back what you're about to forget. Challenge a friend to a flashcard duel.
• Exam mode: add your exam dates or upload your exam timetable. From three weeks before, Lynktern gives you a few small revision tasks each day from your own flashcards, notes and past questions.
• Past questions: upload a past question paper and Lynktern splits it into questions. Tap one and it's solved step by step from your own lecture notes.
• GPA tracker: record your grades and watch your GPA rise and fall semester by semester, with the courses costing you the most points shown clearly.
• Course circles and study buddies: find classmates taking the same course at your school, ask questions, and keep each other going.

The Companion speaks your language too. Choose English, Pidgin, Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba, and the AI Tutor answers you in it.

When your internship comes

When it's time for SIWES, your Companion record comes with you. Your courses and skills are already on your profile.

Your logbook is built for trust. You write what you did each day in your own words, and AI tidies it into ITF format. Your own notes stay beside the tidied entry, with the date you logged it, so your supervisor can see it was written as the work happened. Your industry supervisor signs each week from a secure link, no account needed.

That is on purpose. A logbook that anyone could fake is worth nothing to you, your school or an employer. A logbook that shows its own history is proof.

Your final-year project, done properly

The final-year project is where many students feel most alone. Lynktern's project workspace helps you do it yourself, properly:

• Choosing a topic: discover topic ideas, bring your own idea, or check a topic you already have. You choose; your supervisor approves.
• Real sources only: your literature review is built from real, published research (indexed works from OpenAlex), never made-up references. Save sources to your Research Library and group them into themes.
• Chapters: track each chapter from drafting to your supervisor's approval, in the common five-chapter format.
• Methodology help: work out your sample size with the formulas lecturers expect.

Lynktern helps you structure, understand and organise. It does not write your project for you, because your defense exists to check that the work is yours.
